Anouk Grandits is a junior working towards a BFA in photography and printmaking at SUNY Purchase College. She uses her photography to track changes in her personal life and the larger world—the physical and emotional environments in which we all live. Once taking for granted the factual, documentary nature of photography, she has recently begun to question the honesty of images. She has been experimenting with this idea through the process of weaving two separate images together. In doing this, she alters the photographs’ original intentions, forcing the subjects of different images to interact and occupy the same frame and creating new narratives between them.
